Anna McCarthy

Anna Mae McCarthy, 85, passed away 8:41 am, Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Holly Brook in Bethalto.

Born July 24, 1935 in Alton, she was the daughter of Chero "Charles" and Rosa (Pasquale) Marmino.

A homemaker for most of her life, she served as a custodian in the Wood River-Hartford School District.  She enjoyed BINGO,cooking and was an avid Cardinal fan.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph McCarthy, Jr. whom she married on December 21, 2006 in Edwardsville.

Surviving also are sons, James Gibbs, John Gibbs; daughters, Cathy McClure, Cindy Gibbs; step-daughter, Rebecca Wayne; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Angelo, Sam, Joe, Ernie and Anthony Marmino; and two sisters, Virginia Oliver and Verna Fenton.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Saturday, December 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton.  Father Paul Nguyen, OMV will be celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton.
