
Annabelle Lucille Hill, age 93, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, Illinois. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, and love that will continue to live on through all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Annabelle was born on September 1, 1932, in Carrollton, Illinois, the cherished daughter of the late Charles Ashford and Helen (Pike) Voyles.
On April 23, 1960, Annabelle married Dr. Robert S. Hill in Granite City, Illinois, beginning a beautiful journey together built upon love, faith, and family. Robert, the love of her life, preceded her in death on September 20, 2014, but their enduring bond remained an inspiration to all who knew them.
A woman of deep faith, Annabelle was a faithful and active member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, where she generously gave of her time and talents through various ministries and church groups. Her compassionate heart also guided her professional life. As a registered nurse, she devoted herself to caring for others and spent many years working alongside her husband in his Granite City medical practice.
Annabelle possessed a gift for making a house feel like home. She was an exceptional cook who delighted in opening her doors and bringing family and friends together around her table. Whether through a shared meal, a comforting conversation, or a quiet act of kindness, she had a special way of making everyone feel welcomed and loved. Above all else, her greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and the love she poured into their lives will remain a lasting gift for generations to come. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Annabelle was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Mary Hill, and by her sister, Libby Bell.
She is survived by her loving children, Bridgett (Aedan) Hurley of Ellicott, Maryland; Amanda (Barry) Raynor of Highland, Illinois; Amy (Jeff) Steiner of Illiopolis, Illinois; and Patrick Hill of Granite City, Illinois; her dear brother, John Voyles; her cherished grandchildren, Colin (Jennifer) Hurley, Devin Hurley, Liam (Kayla Soltis) Hurley, Connor Hurley, Sean Hurley, Elizabeth (Patrick) Barberchek, Lukas Raynor, Grant (Morgan) Steiner, Ian (Elizabeth Turk) Steiner, Hannah Steiner, Katherine Hill, Annie Hill, and Rein Hill; her treasured great-grandchildren, Declan, Tegan, Elliott, Aedan, Mason, and Evelyn; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Annabelle’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, Illinois, with Father Rob Johnson officiating. Annabelle will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville, Illinois.
Memorial donations may be made to Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and will be accepted at the funeral chapel or church.
