Ava Ruyle

Jerseyville

Save
After a brave and hard fought battle, our beautiful and cherished, Ava Margaret Ruyle, joined the angels in Heaven at 9:04 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2017 while a patient at St. Louis Children's Hospital. She was born at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton at 9:47 p.m., on July 30, 2009, and came into this world as a 4 lb 13 oz determined and spirited young lady. Her fight began immediately after birth, after discovering a congenital heart defect, and her many doctors and hospital visits soon followed.  None of this however, was going to stop her spirit and her zest for life.  As hard as she fought, and she fought hard, Ava also didn't mind letting you know when she wasn't particularly pleased with a particular procedure or setup, and to her it didn't matter if you were family, or if you happened to be the physician in charge of her care.Ava was the oldest of three children born to Douglas William and Christina (Macher) Ruyle, and as the oldest, she was very protective, and sometimes disciplinarian, to her two younger brothers, Gage, age  2 and Layne,  age 10 months.   She enjoyed playing with them, but also didn't mind letting Mom and Dad know when she thought it was time for her to step in, and take charge.Like most little girls, Ava loved her baby dolls, and proceeded to mother and protect them, just as she did her brothers.   She loved her Littlest Pet Shop toys, and enjoyed camping, swimming and staying overnight in a hotel, and it didn't matter what hotel, just as long as it had a pool.  She passed many a hour watching You Tube videos, and loved her cat, and named him "Species", of all things. She attended preschool at Sonshine Kids in Jerseyville, and was currently a first grader in Mrs. Campbell's class at West Elementary.Ava's spunky personality, humor and love she possessed for her family will never be forgotten, and her memory will be carried in our hearts for all eternity.Surviving are her parents, Douglas and Christina Ruyle of Jerseyville; her two brothers,  Gage Douglas Ruyle and Layne Charles Mark Ruyle both at home; her loving and devoted grandparents, Kevin and Joanie Ruyle of Jerseyville, and Richard Charles and Angelika C. Macher of Brighton; her great grandparents, Betty Ruyle of Jerseyville and George and Rose Radcliff of Bowling Green, Ky.; her uncles and aunts, David and Jessi Ruyle of Jerseyville and Tammy and Brian Weber of Florida; along was loved and cherished by many cousins and host of family members.Ava was preceded in death by her great grandparents, John and Priscilla Powers, William and FayneRuyle, and Raymond and Dorothy Macher.A celebration of Ava's life will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday at the funeral home, and a dear family friend, Kevin McNicholas will preside.Ava will be buried in the Grimes-Neeley Cemetery in Jerseyville, and will rest in a much deserved peace.A beautiful way to remember Ava and her determination, would be in the form of a memorial to Isaac's Rays of Hope, to assist in their continued assistance to many children faced with serious illnesses.
