Billy Gray

  Billy Dean Gray, 84, passed away at 12:36 a.m. Tuesday, May 15 at Alhambra Care Center in Alhambra.

  Born June 5, 1927 in Bethalto, he was a son of Lennis C. and Alveta (Brummer) Gray.

  Billy was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Clark Oil in Wood River.

  He married Rachel M. Shirrell on March 15, 1951 in Arkansas.  She passed away Dec. 22, 2007.

  He is survived by 2 grandsons, Willie and Adam Guild; and a sister, Gloria (Gray) Acuncius of Bunker Hill.

  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marsha Guild; and a brother, Robert V. Gray.

  Private services and burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Vita’s Hospice.
