Billy Denby

Billy Denby, 91, passed away at 4:15pm on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Eden Village in Glen Carbon.  He was born on October 16, 1929, in Carlinville, the son of the late Franklin and Ganelle (Weller) Denby. 

Survivors include two nieces and their husbands: Sherry and Joe Huff of Wood River, Debbie and Dan Zimmerman of Wood River, three nephews and their wives: Don and JoAnn Brueggeman of Bethalto, Randy and Joyce Brueggeman of Bethalto, Dennis and Jan Denby of Edwardsville, and many other extended family and friends.

Billy was employed at Granite City Steel for over twenty-five years prior to his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Wilma, a brother: Dean, and his special friend: Edith Liedtke.

Private family graveside services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.  Pastor Doug Pascoe will officiate.  Full military honors will be conducted by the Ritual Team of VFW Post 1308 of Alton. 

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
