Brian Burgess

Brian Burgess, 40, of Jerseyville, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

He was born in Portsmouth Hospital in Virginia, on March 16, 1985, the son of Mark J. and Sandra (Hayes) Burgess.

Brian was an avid gamer and enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends. Most of all, Brian cherished his time spent with friends and family.

Along with his mother, Sandy, he is survived by a sister, Carrie and Ryan Bennett of Willard, MO; nieces and nephews, Greyson, Oliver, and Lizzie; as well as aunts and uncles of the Hayes family, Laura Franklin, Christopher Franklin, and Jerry Franklin.

Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11 am, at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is assisting the family with final arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to The American Cancer Society.
