Brian Maurer

Brian Keith Maurer, age 57, of Highland, IL, died Friday, January 10, 2025, at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in O' Fallon, IL.

He was born on Tuesday, December 5, 1967, in Highland, IL, the son of Gene Seymour Maurer and Darleen Phillips.

He was a member of Apostolic Revival Church and a member of Jamestown Coon Hunters Association.

Brian was born in Highland and graduated from Highland High School in 1986. He then attended I.T.T Tech School.

Brian worked at TV Rays, Schantz's, B-Line and Jet Aviation. As an avocation, he enjoyed building boat docks and was a skilled carpenter and construction worker.

He collected Pepsi memorabilia and Irish folklore. Brian enjoyed cooking, fishing, and being outdoors with family. Brian centered his life around spending time with his daughters and playing with his grandchildren.

• Grandchildren - Amara L. Still, Highland, IL
• Grandchildren - Theo Gene Hanna, Highland, IL
• Sister - Starla (Bill) Powell, Scottsville, KY
• Sister - Denise ("Mitzi) F. Zurliene, Pocahontas, IL
• Step Father - Wayne O. Deibert, Highland, IL

He was preceded in death by:

• Father - Gene F. "Seymour" Maurer - Died 1/12/2004
• Mother - Darleen Phillips - Died 06/22/2022

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at John Wildi Masonic Temple in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children.
