Carol Demkey

Carol Ann Demkey, 71, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at 7:45 pm at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. 

She was born on May 8, 1948, in Granity City, IL. She married George Demkey on October 22, 1985 in Wood River, IL. 

Carol was an a LPN for Liberty Village for many years, and was dedicated to her work. In her younger years she enjoyed fishing, and was a big fan of the Kentucky Wildcats Basketball team.

She is survived by her husband, George; five children, Paul Ozame of South dDakota, William Varble (Melissa) of Kentucky, Ruth Myers (David) of Edwardsville, IL, Michael Varble of East Alton, IL, and Melissa Harpole (James) of Colorado; two brothers, Frank Wilimzig (Marsha) of Florida and Norman Wilimzig (Karla) of Mt. Vernon, IL; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 nephews. 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and first husband, Paul Varble. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 7:00 pm at the Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to the Funeral Home to help with expenses.
