Carol Jean Froebel, 83, of Bunker Hill, IL, died at Litchfield Health and Rehab Center, Litchfield, IL on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 6:05 a.m.

She was born June 14, 1941, in Bunker Hill, IL to Milliard M. Johnson & Margaret Winsel Johnson. She married Walter Earl Froebel on May 7, 1960 in Alton, IL. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2010.

She was a cook and custodian for the Bunker Hill School District for 24 years. Carol collected Longaberger Baskets and Beanie Babies. She enjoyed embroidering and quilting.

She is survived by her children, Charlotte (Sam) Hanks of Palmyra, IL, Lynda (Rob) Kruemmelbein of Bunker Hill, IL, grandchildren, Walt & Britta Hanks, Jeff Hanks, Angela Wilkinson, Marie Rose, Josh & Min Chestnut, Luke & Janna Chestnut, great-grandchildren, Tatum, Levi, Reese, Cooper, Benjamin, and great great grandchild, Quentin.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, siblings, Adelaide Webb, Bernice Stevens, Dorothy Whitworth, and Melvin Johnson.

Private services will be held. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
