Cathy Harrison

Cathy Lynn Harrison, 50, passed away at 10:41 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at her home in Godfrey, surrounded by the love of her friends and family, following a valiant fight with Cancer.

She was born on October 4, 1969, in Saint Louis, Missouri, one of two children born to Charles and Sharon (Westbrook) Farris. Cathy grew up in South Saint Louis City and graduated with the class of 1988 From Lutheran South High School.

She met Robert Harrison at the Imo's restaurant on Hampton Avenue and the two married on September 7, 1996, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Saint Louis. Albeit far too short, their 23-year union was blessed beyond measure. Together they raised their family, built a life and a business together, all on the foundation of hard work, love, and commitment.

Cathy relished in the company of others and the value that the family held in her heart was immeasurable. Most certainly her family at home, but also to her friends and work-family as well. As Cathy and Rob worked alongside one another, owning and operating the Imo's Pizza franchise in Jerseyville for the past 15 years, their employees and customers became a true extension of their family, because with Cathy there was no difference ' she treated each and every person she encountered as just that: Family.  Her vibrant smile and genuine personality had a way of drawing you in and making you feel special. She left her mark on you, and rest assured, you left yours on her as well.

Cathy battled her illness with courage and resilience. Despite her struggles, she maintained a positive outlook and lifted up those around her with her unwavering spirit and for that, we say 'Thank You' ' Thank you, Cathy, for your love, your friendship, and your strength. Your legacy will remain alive as we carry out the rest of our days, living by your example.

Surviving are her mother, Sharon Farris of Saint Louis, Missouri; her husband, Rob Harrison of Godfrey; three children, Laura Henry of Dittmer, Missouri; Robert and Ryan Harrison, both of Godfrey; a grandson, Carter, who was her true pride and joy; as well as twin grandbabies, due to arrive in April; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Leah Farris of Columbia; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Patricia Cox of Brighton; in addition to her nieces and nephews, extended family members and her 'YaYa's' ' Michelle Wheeler, Nikki Wheeler, and Kristy Love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Farris on September 1, 2017.

Per her wishes, cremation rights have been accorded and a Celebration of her amazing life will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be given to the family, in care of the funeral home.
