Cathy Potter

Cathy Maude Potter, 71, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Evelyn's House in Creve Coeur, MO.

Born April 17, 1949, in Alton, she was the daughter of Ralph Harris and Shirley (Hopper) Avery.

She had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at area hospitals before retiring.

She married Marion Forest Potter in 1996 in Cottage Hills, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Simon Mercer of East Alton; daughter, Natalie Hicks of Wood River; four grandchildren, Chad Mercer, Ryan Holt, Tyler Mercer, Brianna Mercer; and a great-grandchild, Jamie Holt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Lonnie Mercer; and brother, Tim Harris.

Cremation rites were accorded.  No services have been scheduled.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
