Charles Salmons

Charles A. Salmons, 89, died at 2:28 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. Born May 25, 1928 in Washington Park, IL, he was the son of Clarence and Mabel (Merideth) Salmons. Mr. Salmons served in the U. S. Air Force and retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves. He then worked for Owens-Illinois Glass Mold Shop and for the Dierberg’s produce department. He was also the fire chief for the Washington Park Fire Department and a past Masonic Lodge Mason. Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Johnson of Alton and Kathleen Graham of Alton, one son, Charles S. Salmons (Mary Ann) of Marietta, GA, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, L.C. Salmons and George Salmons and a sister, Glenda Helen. There will be no services.
