Charles E. “Charlie” Crumbacher Sr

Charles E. “Charlie” Crumbacher Sr., 70, formerly of Alton, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Midlothian, VA. Born December 3, 1941 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Les and Rose (Ferro) Crumbacher. He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Alton. In 1992 he retired from the design department at Owens Illinois Glass in Alton. He married the former Katy Tryban in 1960 in Carbondale, IL. She preceded him in death in 2003. Surviving is a daughter, Cindy Hadank (Mike) of Midlothian, VA, a son, Jim Crumbacher of San Francisco, CA; five grandchildren, Benjamin and Sam Crumbacher, Adam, Madeline, and Morgan Hadank; one brother, Joe Crumbacher and one sister, Donna Chaney both of DuQuoin. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles “Chuck” Crumbacher Jr. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon Monday, April 2, 2012 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Father Jim Brobst will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
