Charles Foster

Charles (Gene) Foster, 73, died at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Alton Memorial Hospital. 

He was born December 7, 1937 in Nebo, IL the son of the late Burdette and Erma (Sidwell) Foster.  On April 24, 1960 in Hannibal, MO he married Patricia (Pat) McCoy and she survives.  He was retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad. 

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter:  Kim Dodson of Fenton, MO, two sons:  Jeff Foster of Fenton, MO and Tim Foster and his wife Samantha of Alton, IL, three grandchildren:  Josh Dodson, Katelyn Dodson and Mikaela Foster, and one sister, Shirley Stuart of Quincy, IL. 

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the Methodist Village Chapel in Godfrey, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
