Charles Colman

Charles “Jack” Colman, age 82, of Godfrey, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born July 30, 1934, in Alton, the son of Charles W. and Gladys (Brown) Colman.. He married Anita Teutrine on August 2, 1961 in Alton and she survives.

Jack retired from Owens-Illinois Glassworks after thirty-one years in the maintenance department. He then operated the Colman Vacuum Repair Shop for many years. Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those who love him.

In addition to his wife, Anita; he is survived by four children and their spouses, Leslie and Kim Buel, Kathy Hays, and Michael Colman, all of Godfrey, and Gary and Karen Colman of St. Louis; his siblings, Betty Read of Godfrey, and James Colman of Alton; two brothers-in-law, Donald and Pat Teutrine, and Robert Butler, all of Alton; six grandchildren, Kevin Buel, Kyle Hays, Justin Buel, Jenifer Buel, Kasey Colman, and Brian Colman; seven great-grandchildren, Trinity, Willow, and Wesley Buel, Alyssa and Ethan Buel, and Aiden and Autumn Colman; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Bill.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 14, 2017, from 5:00 pm until a Celebration of Life at 7:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

A private family interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to BJC Hospice.
