Charles “Chucker” R. Tague, 93, died at 7:22 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born October 4, 1931 in Alton, he was the son of Ray D. and Victoria (Panyik) Tague.

Mr. Tague retired from Union Local 688.He was a bronze level ABC Bowling Coach and coached the Alton High School bowling team.He was a member of the Bowling Hall of Fame. 

On August 3, 1953 he married the former Loretta May Medlock in Alton.She preceded him in death on October 16, 2010.Surviving are two daughters, Victoria R. Prairie of Godfrey and Mary E. Busler (Dale) of Godfrey, and a daughter-in-law, Lynn Tague of Champaign, IL. 

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Meaghan McIntyre (Matt), Grant Fessler, Collin Tague, Abigail Graham, Kelsey Busler, and Niki Busler, three great grandchildren, Chloe McIntyre, Parker McIntyre, and Juliet Richardson, one brother, Joseph Tague of Henderson, Nevada and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael J. Tague, a son-in-law, Jean Prairie, and two sisters, June Tague in infancy and Gerladine Stutheit. 

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.Private graveside services will be at Godfrey Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alton High School Bowling Team.
