Charlotte Davis

Charlotte B. Davis, 84, died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home. Born April 13, 1933 in Alton, she was the daughter of Edwin and Ivy (Lewis) Boyd. Charlotte was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Godfrey. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing. On December 24, 1951 she married Thomas Euin Davis in Alton. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1994. Surviving is a son, Thomas W. Davis (Pat) of Jerseyville, two grandchildren, Chris Davis (Amber) of Hannibal, MO, and Laura Sams (Brett) of Jerseyville, three great grandchildren, Madison and Gregory Sams, and Austin Miles Davis. Also surviving is a brother, Walter “Buddy” Boyd of Fosterburg and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Wayne E. Davis and a sister, Florence McGuiggan. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Tom Olney will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
