Chesley Blevins

Chesley Palmer Blevins, 80, of Gillespie, IL, died at his residence on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 9:50 pm. He was born March 2, 1946, in Litchfield, IL to Robert Blevins & Betty Cranford Blevins.

He was a retired coal miner after having worked for Monterey Coal Co. He was a veteran of the US Army. Chesley enjoyed fishing and researching the family tree.

He is survived by his sons, David (Misty) Blevins of Gillespie, IL, Kenny (Manilyn) Blevins of Madison, AL, Joseph (Judith) Blevins of Gillespie, IL, 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 6 siblings. 

Chesley was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Angela Blevins and brother, Bobby Blevins.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 811 E Wilson, Gillespie, IL starting at 5 pm. Gravesite services will be on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Crabtree Cemetery, Litchfield, IL at 10 am.

Memorials are suggested to Wounded Warriors Project or American Cancer Society.
