
Clifford E. Link, Sr., 89, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
Born Feb. 3, 1937 in Bunker Hill, he was a son of Jessie E. and Virginia “Jennie” (Divine) Link.
Cliff worked as a steelworker for Laclede Steel for 36 ½ years, retiring in 1991. He also owned and operated Link’s TV in Brighton for 16 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and Calvary Baptist Church. Cliff enjoyed fishing and watching Cardinals baseball. He also played guitar in a band and was an accomplished yodeler.
Cliff married Dorothy A. Vonderheidt Oct. 7, 1961 in Alton. She survives, along with his children, Harvey Link of Wood River, Debra Braun of East Alton, Clifford (Kim) Link, Jr. of Fenton, MO, Richard (Viola) Link of Brighton, Robin S. (David) Morris of Normandy, MO, and Dana (Mike) Breitweiser of Brighton; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth (Joseph) Scarano of Lewiston, ID.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin Link; a sister, Joy K. Winslow; and two brothers, Larry Davis and Donald Link.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 28 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 11 a.m. until a memorial service begins at 1 p.m. Pastor Andre Dobson will officiate.
