Craig Hubbard, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, public servant, and man of faith, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on October 2, 2026.
Born on December 26, 1949, in O'Fallon, Illinois, Craig was the son of Joseph and Betty Hubbard. He grew up in the community he loved and spent his life serving with dedication, kindness, and integrity.
A 1968 graduate of O'Fallon Township High School, Craig continued his education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business in 1972. Following graduation, he joined United Airlines as a flight attendant and became the first male member of the United Airlines Clipped Wings Organization. He later returned to O'Fallon, where he worked as a travel agent and tour guide for four years.
Craig enjoyed a successful 35-year career as a financial consultant with AXA Advisors. He was also deeply committed to public service, serving as an elected member of the St. Clair County Board for 22 years. Throughout his life, Craig was a beloved member of the community and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a member of the Rotary Club of O’Fallon Sunrise, through which he enjoyed working with the Christian Activity Center in E. St. Louis. He considered himself an honest and common man and believed in the goodness of everyone he met.
A devout Christian, Craig was a lifetime member of O'Fallon First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the O'Fallon Sportsmen's Club, the Masons, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shriners, and the Knights Templar.
Craig found joy in the simple pleasures of life. As a young man, he loved fishing and later took great pride in passing his favorite pastime on to his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling, skiing, and spending time with family at Kentucky Lake. More than anything, Craig cherished the time he spent with those he loved.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Betty Hubbard, and his brother, Eric Hubbard.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Claudia Hubbard; his two daughters, Joele (Kenneth) Pinkerton of Dublin, Ohio, and Lauren (Gerald) McManama of O'Fallon, Illinois; and by his favorite people on Earth, his four grandchildren: twin grandsons Henry and Joseph Pinkerton, and granddaughters Penelope and Gemma McManama, and many nieces and nephews.
Craig's legacy of kindness, honesty, faith, and service will live on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his years.
