Dale Sparks, 84, passed away 7:25 p.m., Friday, August 4, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Hartford on March 29, 1933, he was the son of J.D and Mildred Sparks.

A Korean War Air Force veteran, he retired from Shell Oil in the Inspection Loss Department.

On May 7, 1956 in Albany, GA, he married Bonita Maxine Miller.  She died January 11, 2002.

Surviving is his daughter, Charlotte Sparks of Godfrey.

Preceding in death were his parents; half-brother, Danny Sparks; Step-brother, B.L. Dugger; and half-sister, Sherry Williams.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
