Darrell Luebbert

Darrell Luebbert, 88, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Alton Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.  He was born December 21, 1931, in Granite City, IL the son of the late Ted and Reba (Morrow) Luebbert.  He was proud of the years he spent in the U.S. Navy and he retired as a crane operator engineer after many years.  On February 7, 1971, he married Betty Strader and she survives.  Also, surviving is one daughter, Jill Payne of Shipman and one son Steve Luebbert of Troy, IL.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael and one brother, Dudley.  Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
