
David J. Guetterman, 67, of Lebanon, IL, born August 4, 1959, in Belleville, IL, passed away, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones.
David’s early careers began as four years in the Air Force to eight and half years as the Senior Pastor in the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. David felt led to live close to family, so he left the pastorate in Indiana and moved to Illinois. In Illinois he became a commercial carpet cleaner; He advanced to become a Senior Property Manager at Balke Brown and retired after 25 years.
After arriving in Illinois David found Life church where he was an avid member. He often led the worship service as the lead singer and guitarist. He loved to write music and play guitar. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing with his family, working on various projects on the family farm, going to bible studies and doing devotionals with his family.
David was a steadfast Christian with strong moral character and was loved by all who met him. He was deeply invested in his family’s lives and never failed to say, “I Love You.” He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred J. and Arlene L., nee Stitzel, Guetterman; He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Diane Guetterman, nee Corporaal; his three sons, David Guetterman, Jr., Stephen Guetterman, and Tim Guetterman; three brothers and four sisters, Michael (Kerri) Guetterman, Sr., Mary (John) Black, Fred (Lynn) Guetterman, Judy (Roger) Wright, Linda Guetterman, Phillip (Katie) Guetterman, and Janet Parker; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for David will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Life Church, Swansea, IL, with services following from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
