Dawn Lefler

Dawn Marie Lefler, 48, of Carlinville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Carlinville Area Hospital.

She was born on May 10, 1978, in Alton, the daughter of Michael and Brenda (Lefler) Wyhs.

Dawn loved her family deeply, especially her daughters and grandchildren. Dawn loved anything with bright colors, Tinker Bell, horror movies, and Stephen King. She could also be seen doodling on any spare paper she could find. She was a very generous and kind woman and she will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and those in her community.

She is survived by her mother, Brenda Wyhs of Carlinville; fiancé Joshua McDaniles of Carlinville; three daughters, Hannah Bell (Cade Muenstermann) of Godfrey, Megan Bell (Justyn Beavin) of Troy, MO, and Kiersten Bell (James Whitt) of Hannibal, MO; five grandchildren, Asher, Theodore, Kai, Hayden, and Rolla; brother, Jeremy Wyhs; sister Nicole Wyhs; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dawn was preceded in death by her father, Michael; maternal grandmother Norma Lefler.
