Della Gean

Della May Gean, 93, of Granite City, IL, passed away, Wed. Oct. 7, 2026. She was born June 21, 1933 in Parma, MO and was a daughter of the late Zelma and Delmar Norman.  Della worked hard throughout her life. Here passion was sewing and she loved being a seamstress and had many other talents too. She rarely said “No” to anyone. Della raised 5 children, loved being a grandma and loved being a wife to the love of her life, Glynn Gean.

She is survived by daughters: Rena’ Niehaus Lemons, Joyce (Leonard) Johnson; sons: Michael Lemons, Dwaine (Lori Gergen) Lemons; Joyce Church who was like a daughter; daughter-in-law: Becky Lemons; step-son: Allen (Marsha) Gean; grandchildren: Robert Varady, Amy Niehaus Jett, Misty Lemons, Amber Lemons, Samantha Lemons, Cory Lemons, Shelby Lemons and Tyler Gean; and great-grandchildren: James, Daisy, Maisie, Dustin, Ashley, Maddox, Maggie, Savannah, Gerald and Ava.

In addition to her husband, Glynn Gean, and parents, Zelma and Delmar Norman, she was preceded in death by a son: Gary Lemons; brothers; Jesse, George and Clarence Norman; and sisters; Violet and Vera.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at 7:00 p.m. Tues. Oct. 20, 2026 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wed. Oct. 21, 2026 at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL.
