Denise Verbais

Denise Lynn Verbais, 76, died at 1:02 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born November 20, 1949 in Wood River, IL the daughter of the late Donald and Betty (Wood) Blankenship.

On September 21, 1968 at St. Kevin’s Catholic Church in Rosewood Heights, she married Mike Verbais and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Daron Verbais (Joan) of Godfrey and Chad Verbais (Sarah) of Edwardsville, eight grandchildren, Mary, Thomas, Tyler, Vincent, Davis, Scott, Knox and Cecilia, two great grandchildren, Riley and Stevie, one brother, Don Eric Blankenship (Donna) of Wanda, IL., one sister, Debbie Keymond and numerous nephews and one niece.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Father Steven Janoski will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
