Dennis Wieneke

Dennis Ray Wieneke, 67, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018. 

He was born Feb. 16, 1951 in Alton to Olin L. and Norma J. (Goble) Wieneke. Dennis was a very kind and loving person. He enjoyed the outdoors, music, cooking, westerns and traveling. Dennis was a modern day renaissance man; however he did not embrace technology and preferred a simpler life. His first and most rewarding job was working at the Madison County Detention Center.

He is survived by two sons, Dustin Ray (Jessica) Wieneke of Wood River and Drew (Aline) Wieneke of Cottage Hills; seven grandchildren; brother, Jeffrey (Jenifer) Wieneke of OH; two sisters, Sharon (Merle) Jackson of Wood river and Donna (Doug) Guthrie of TX; friend and ex-wife, Sherri Malone of Wood River; close friend Larry Peal and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece.

A memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights.
