Diane Appel

Diane Mae Appel, nee Middendorf, 78, of Marshfield, MO, born May 10, 1948, in Belleville, IL, died Monday, September 6, 2026, at her residence.

Mrs. Appel was the circulation manager for the North County Times, in Temecula, CA, before retirement. Diane revolved her life around her family. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and children and she always answered the call to take care of her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Esther, nee Behrmann, Middendorf; and a brother, Ronald Middendorf.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Larry Appel, whom she married on March 18, 1971; two daughters, Tamara (Aaron) Burg and their children, Ilana Burg and Eva Burg, Elizabeth (John) Martin and their children, Cody Martin and Kylie Martin; a son, Mark (Michelle) Appel and their children, Joshua (Dani) Appel, Cameron (Ruthie) Appel, and Tanner Appel; a great-grandchild, Enzo Appel; and a sister, Marlene (Tom) Vogel.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2026, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Deacon Corby Valentine officiating.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
