Donald T. Wuellner, 82, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at his home in Alton. Born April 21, 1930 in Alton, he was the son of Andrew J. and Emma (Leib) Wuellner. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. He was a co-owner and operator of JJ Wuellner and Sons and retired in 1992. On April 11, 1955 he married the former Vera Zinn in Springfield, MO. She survives. Also surviving are five children, Mary Kay Morton of Alton, Steven Wuellner (Denee) of Godfrey, Andrew Wuellner (Karen) of Stockton, CA, Jo Ellen Hardester (Dan) of Alton, and Kurt Wuellner (Andrea) of St. Charles, MO, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a sister, Lois Wuellner of Alton, a brother, Tom Wuellner (Jane) of Alton, and a sister-in-law, Betty Wuellner of Godfrey, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Eugene and Fred Wuellner. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery with full military honors by the VFW Post 1308.
