Donna Kinsella

Donna L. Kinsella, nee Schaefer, 75, of Swansea, IL, born April 27, 1949, in Belleville, IL, passed away Friday November 8, 2024, at her home with her family. Donna was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

Donna had a passion for the 1904 World's Fair and Christmas. She had a deep love for animals, specifically elephants and her cat, Lola. She loved to fill her days reading murder mysteries, listening to Barry Manilow, and watching Jeopardy (4:30pm - don't interrupt). She was a Boy Scout and school volunteer and also worked at UCC in Freeburg.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother, Helen M. Schaefer, nee Fietsam; her father, Norman Schaefer; her sister and her best friend, Dawn Chitwood.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Kenneth R. Kinsella, whom she married on November 15, 1969; a son, Paul (Tabitha) Kinsella of New Athens, IL; a daughter, Michelle (Josh) Restivo of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Samantha and Alex Kinsella, Amber and Violet Restivo; and her brother, Mark (Linda) Schaefer of Millstadt, IL.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

According to Donna’s wishes, cremation was held.
