Dora Lipe

South Roxana,

  Dora A. Lipe, 91, of South Roxana, passed away at 11:00 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 while staying in Batesville, Arkansas at Woodlawn Heights Nursing Home in Batesville.

  She was born April 12, 1927, in Evening Shade, Missouri, a daughter of the late William H. and Gladys G. (Scurlock) Watson.

  Dora and Jesse H. Lipe were married Jan. 30, 1946, in Olive Branch, Illinois. After 66 years, Jesse sadly passed away Nov. 23, 2012. She was a homemaker.

  Survivors include two sons, Charles Lipe of Foristell, Missouri, Rick Lipe and his wife Kim of South St. Louis, Missouri; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Pauline Taylor of Edwards, Missouri.

  Dora was preceded in death by three daughters, Charlotte Haney, infant twins, Aretta and Loretta Lipe.

  Dora’s life will be celebrated from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River, where services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018. Rev. Tony Thomas will officiate.

  Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.

  Memorials may be given to that of one’s choice.
