Dorothy Akers

Dorothy J. Akers, 83, died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Willow Rose Rehab. & Health Care Center in Jerseyville. 

Born September 25, 1927 in Eldorado, IL, she was the daughter of Clarence and Edith (Poppins) Mossberger.  She retired from Owens Illinois Glass in Alton after 35 years of service.  In June 1966 in Alton, she married Louis Akers.  He preceded her in death in June 1997. 

Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Marianne Kessinger of Alton, and one grandson, David Alex Claibourn in St. Louis, MO.  Services will be private.  Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.  Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
