Dorothy Eppinger

Jesus received Dorothy L. Eppinger home at 7:20 am on Saturday July 8, 2017.

She was born December 5, 1925 in Alton, IL, the daughter of the late Muriel and Emma (Grover) Hammers.

Dorothy worked at Emerson Electric for 25 years before retiring in 1987.

Survivors include her son Henry (Leveda) Gavin of Bethalto; three grandsons Henry Gavin III of Wood River, Paul Gavin of South Roxana, and Laramie (Molly) Gavin of Rochester, NY; three great grandchildren Hannah Gavin, Braden Isherwood, and Emerson Gavin; two special friends Earl Dobson and Sharon Emshousen.

She was preceded in death by five siblings Delema, Howard, Russell, James, and Mildred.

Visitation will be from 11 am until time of service at12 pm, on Monday, July 10, 2017, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday July 11, 2017 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or 5A’s.
