Dorris Hillier

Dorris V. Hillier, 93, passed away Monday, November 24, 2025 at Christian Hospital Northeast.

Born March 20, 1932 in Wood River, she was a daughter of Gilbert and Alberta (Warner) Van Camp.

She married Frank E. Hillier Nov. 23, 1951 in Wood River. He preceded her in death Feb. 23, 2010.

An administrative assistant for Riverview Gardens, Dorris also worked as a substitute teacher.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and loved square dancing.

Survivors include her children, Rhonda (Jim) Lersch of Springfield, MO, Brian (Judy) Hillier of Lake St. Louis, MO, and Ken (Denise) Hillier of Granite City; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rosella Newton and a brother, Roland Van Camp.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 1 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 12 noon until services begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Woodland Hill Cemetery.
