Drena Highley

Drena A. Highley, nee Brown, 84, of Fairview Heights, IL, born Thursday, December 4, 1941, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025 at St. Paul’s Home in Belleville, IL.

Drena worked as an Executive Assistant for Ascention Health. She was a member of First Baptist Church in O’Fallon IL and formerly played the Piano and Organ at Landsdowne Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her:

• Parents: Latnie S. and Annie M., nee Lane, Brown
• Father of her children: Wayne J. Highley

Surviving are her:

• Daughters
  • Shannon Highley of Fairview Heights, IL
  • Jessica (Jon) Houpt of Buford, GA
• Grandchildren
  • Alexander (Mariaha) Highley
  • Logan Houpt
  • Hunter Houpt

Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation: Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2025 at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Illinois.

Services: Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2025 at Kurrus Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory-Belleville, IL.
