Eric McDowell

Eric Lynn McDowell, 65, passed away at 7:24 p.m., Sunday January 4, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

  Born February 8, 1949 in Alton, he was a son of the late Norville and Betty (Middleton) McDowell.

  Eric married the former Linda Richardson on May 10, 1965 in Bethalto and she survives.

  He was a Site Security Officer for the Illinois Department of Conservation retiring in 2004.

  Besides his wife he is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Kristin McDowell of Wood River, Josh and Jessica McDowell also of Wood River; six grandchildren, Josie, Ethan, Myah, Kegan, Broc and Skylar.

  Besides his parents, Eric was preceded in death by his brother Mark McDowell.

  The family will have private services.

  Memorials may be given to that of one's choice.

  Gray Funeral Home in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
