Evelyn Sheary

Evelyn (McCoy) Sheary beloved wife, mother, and grandmother to many passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026 in Alton, Illinois. She was 96 years old.

She was the first born to John and Eunice Soden.

She is survived by her siblings: Norma, John (Mary Kay), William, Juanita, and Sharon. Surviving is a daughter Barb and daughter-in-laws Sue and Bernadette along with six step children.

She was a proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sons, three grandchildren and several siblings.

She enjoyed many years of square dancing, she also enjoyed sewing and made many of her own outfits, traveling, and cmaping.

May she rest in heavenly peace and will be missed by family who loved her.

Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She will be laid to rest at Woodland Hills Cemetery in East Alton, IL at a private service.
