Floyd Slightom

Floyd Allen Slightom, 84, of East Alton, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at La Bella of Alton.

He was born on December 11, 1941, in Brighton, the son of the late Charles and Gwendolyn (Stice) Slightom.

Floyd proudly served our country in the United States Army, serving from 1961-1963. He was a lifetime truck driver as owner/operator and drove for companies as well. He retired from BOC Gas. Floyd was a life member of East Alton American Legion Post 794. Floyd enjoyed many outdoor activities.

He is survived by his Partner of 28 years, Sharon Price; daughter Ronda (Marc) Emile of Ocean Springs, MS, and her mother Linda Blumstein-Wuestenberg; granddaughter Krystal (Daniel) Ezell; two great granddaughters Kaitlyn and Annabelle Ezell; brother Lawrence  Slightom; sister Terry Cobb; sister in law Vicki Slightom and several nieces and nephews. Sharon Prices daughters; Lori Grace, Deena Hagen, and Shara Price.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; brother Phillip Slightom; sister Sharon Jones; brother in law Eddie Cobb. 

Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded and entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home.

A private family burial will take place at Medora Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to 5 A’s Animal Shelter in Alton.
