Freida Malloy

Freida M. Malloy, 96, of Carlinville, IL, died at Village of Morse Farms, Carlinville, IL on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at 3:07 pm.

She was born February 10, 1930, in Macoupin County, IL to James Orville Kelly & Celia Ellen Dillon Kelly.

She married Carl T. "Doc" Malloy on October 16, 1974 in Hillsboro, IL.  He preceded her in death on October 26, 2008.

She was a retired waitress and cook for Freida's Cafe in Benld, IL, The Grill in Gillespie, IL, Bernhardt’s, Gillespie, IL and Gillespie High School.

She is survived by her children, Larry (Debra) Pintar of McKinney, TX, Patrick (Jill) Pintar of Carlinville, IL, Gloria Sidar of Gillespie, IL, Antonia (John) Groves of Walshville, IL, Nadine Malloy of Hanover, MD, Ashley Malloy of Zeigler, IL, step son, Jeff Malloy of Coffeen, IL, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, siblings, Marjorie Taylor, Joe Kelly and Jim Kelly.

Freida was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, step sons, Karl Malloy, Billy Malloy, siblings, Arlene Griva, Ellen Clemonds, Edna Audi, Betty Heck, Mary Lou Jubelt, Doris Donaldson, John Kelly, Orville Kelly, Jr. and Bill Kelly.

Visitation will be on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 9:30 am until 11:00 am. Memorial services will be on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Olive Hill Cemetery, Coffeen, IL.

Memorials are suggested to Gillespie Public Library, Benld Library or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
