George Womack

George R. Womack, age 62 of Edwardsville, IL, born August 6, 1958 in Salem, IN, passed away on May 12, 2021 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

George retired from Tesla.  He enjoyed sailing on his sailboat and skiing but most of all, loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  He was a member of Blue River Baptist Church in Salem, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyce Brown and Nora Evelyn (nee Hoskins) Womack; and a brother, Robert Womack.

He is survived by a daughter, Jessica (Brian) Therien of Glen Carbon, IL; a son, George E. Womack of Glen Carbon, IL; four grandchildren:  Cameron Ray Womack, Benjamin Leameal Womack, Ava Ruth Therien, and Colin Scott Therien; two brothers:  Don (Judy) Womack of Bradenton, FL and Howard (Daisy) Womack of Crothersville, IN; a sister, Linda Knapp of Bedford, IN; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on June 20, 2021 at Blue River Baptist Church, 5624 E Farabee Rd, Salem, IN 47167.  Burial will be in Blue River Baptist Church Cemetery.
