Harold Brown Sr

Harold R."Brownie" Brown, Sr., 74, passed away 8:54 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2017 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born in Green County on March 2, 1943, he was the son of Harry Russell and Halma E. (Neece) Brown.

He had been a Laborer and past president of Labor Local #218 for 55 years before retiring in 1997.  He had also been a faithful attendee of Forest Homes Baptist Church.

On December 15, 2000 in Edwardsville, he married Betty June Davis.  She die November 21, 2014.

Surviving are his sons, Harold R. "Rusty" (Lisa) Brown, Jr., Michael D. Brown; daughters, Alice (Ed) Noe, Sheila M. (Bill) Mans, Barbara A. (Scot) Kilburn, Collene V. (Sam) Perkins, Heather D. Brown, Hope E. (Joshua) Van Ess, Hannah G. (Jessy) Cline, Melinda Plumer; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a brother, James J. Brown.

His parents; wife and a brother, Jesse Brown preceded in death.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday.  Rev. Larry Kershner will officiate.

Burial will follow in Glasgow Cemetery.
