Harold McDonough

Harold William McDonough, 66, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at his residence.

Born in Wood River on November 30, 1952, he was the son of Marvin and Mary Lee (Farris) McDonough.

A U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany , he worked as a laborer and track builder for Norfolk and /Southern Railroad before retiring.

On May 21, 1977 in Hartford, he married Barbara K. Belden. She died January 10, 2017.

Surviving are a son, Russell "Rusty" McDonough; daughter, Misty McDonough; grandchildren, Jordan, Anthony and Wyatt; and sisters, Carol Ann Hickman, Randy McDonough and Susie McVay.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Visitation will be held from 12 - 2 pm at Marks Mortuary in Wood River on Monday, November 4.

Memorials may be made to Alton 5 A's or Metro East Animal Shelter.
