Harry Lutz

Harry E. Lutz, age 92, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.

Born September 13, 1933, in Mulberry Grove Illinois, he was the son of Forrest D. and Cleta M. Lutz. His early life and schooling were in Mulberry Grove. Harry married Rowena Milford in 1952 until her passing in 1992. He then married Mary Jo Mahan in 1993 until her passing in 2025.

Harry obtained a Master's degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and was employed by SIUE as Director of Auxiliary Services until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed numerous hobbies throughout his life. Outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and gardening as well as woodworking, boating and flying his personal aircraft were some of the joys he pursued. He was confident in his Christian faith from an early age and could be found attending a Southern Baptist Church in whichever community he lived. He lived life to its fullest.

Harry is survived by his daughter, Barbara Lutz Jones of Murray, Kentucky; his son Daniel (Tammy) Lutz of Rockville, Indiana; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Nelda Borror.
