Henry "Buddy" J. Grzeskowiak, 89, of St. Peters, Missouri, formerly of Bethalto, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 2:37 p.m.
He was born on February 3, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Henry and Mary (Postawko) Grzeskowiak. Buddy married Charlotte M. Rodgers in St. Louis, on April 17, 1954. She preceded him in death in July of 2011.
Buddy worked as a Leak Truck Foreman at Laclede Gas Company for 35 years. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. He was a volunteer at Tree House Wildlife Center as well. Buddy and Charlotte loved living at Table Rock Lake. He enjoyed reading Steven King novels, swimming, rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues, but most of all he loved to spend time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his children, Robert Grzeskowiak of St. Charles, MO, Dianne Rion of St. Peters, MO, Glenn (Kim) Grzeskowiak of St. Charles, MO, and Kathy (Don) Conley of Bethalto; two daughters-in-law, Stacy Grzeskowiak, and Tammy Grzeskowiak; ten grandchildren, Matthew (CeCe) Grzeskowiak, Daniel (Meagan) Grzeskowiak, Scott Grzeskowiak, Maggie (Tyler) Sinks, Melissa (Bill) McFall, Jordan (Nick) Jianas, Jessie Grzeskowiak, Lindsay Grzeskowiak, Jack Grzeskowiak, Jenna Grzeskowiak, and Alex Conley; and four great-grandchildren, Jaidyn, Eli, Caroline, and Ayla.
Along with his parents, and wife, Charlotte, he was preceded in death by two sons, Dale Grzeskowiak and Mark Grzeskowiak; and a granddaughter, Adrianna P. Conley.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, where funeral services will be on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
