Iola Booten

Iola "Ikie" Booten, 95, passed away at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at her home.

She was born July 23, 1923 to Albert and Vivian Reece. 

She married Charles W. "Charlie" Booten July 4, 1946 in East Alton. He passed away Sept. 24, 2010.

Ikie enjoyed bowling and golfing. In her younger years she was a good roller skater. She watched Charlie drive his race cars, and together they spent winters in Texas for 20 years in their camper. In her later years, she loved playing Bingo.

Survivors include a brother, Albert "Junior" Reece of Shipman; nieces and nephews, Deana Carrigan, Tracie (Danny) Crane, Penny (Roger) Turner, Judy (Steve) Steckler, Joe Reece, Jim Reece, Mary (Jerry) Heigert, and Linda (Kenny) Smith; and many, many great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Beulah "Petey" Carrigan, Mabel Allen, and Helen Vanausdoll; and her stepfather, Leonard Pranger.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 10 a.m. until services begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
