Irene “Jeanne” Berghoff, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at Robings Manor in Brighton.She was born on June 13, 1934, in Charleston, IL, the daughter of David and Emma (Bernardini) Giannini.Jeanne married Robert “Bob” Berghoff on October 10, 1959, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto. He survives.Jeanne was a graduate of Marquette Catholic High School in Alton, class of 1952. She worked for Shell Oil Co. from 1952 to 1964, after which, she stayed at home to raise her children. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 50 years and Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto where she was present and participated in the Rosary every Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Mass. She enjoyed bowling, baking, animals, especially her dachshunds, and mostly, spending time with her grandchildren, friends, and family.In addition to her husband, survivors include two children, David Berghoff of Las Vegas, NV, Mindi Lenhardt and her husband David of Alton; and three grandchildren, Kadi Lenhardt, Emma Lenhardt, and Sawyer Lenhardt.She was preceded in death by her parents.Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Liebler officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Memorials may be given to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church or School.Online condolences can be given at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com.
