Jack Mester

Jack Mester, 64, died at 11:40 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at his residence. 

He was born February 3, 1961 in Alton the son of the late William Bobbitt and Helene June (Widger) Mester. Jack worked for many years for Ingram Barge Line. 

Surviving is his wife, Sandra Laughlin, one step son, Derek Ganter, two sisters, Grace “Toni” Schroeder (Neil) of Ft. Wayne, IN, Christy Snyder of East Alton, sisters and brothers in laws, Chris Laughlin (Kenny Ellison), Wayne Laughlin (Tracey Gallup), numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved pet, Brewster. 

A celebration of life will be at a later date.   

Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter.
