
Jacqueline E. Poppe age 82 of Glen Carbon, Illinois, died at 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Stillwater Senior Living in Edwardsville. She was born September 12, 1933, in Edwardsville, the daughter of the late Clarence & Florence (Pester) Cooper. Jacqueline married George F. Poppe on September 4, 1953, in Hagerstown, Maryland. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2007. She worked at AT&T & Ameritech first as an operator and then as a secretary. Jacqueline is survived by one son, Eric Poppe & wife Pam of Collinsville, Illinois; one daughter, Georgette Orman & husband Jeff of Edwardsville; one granddaughter, Jennifer Marquardt & husband Philip of St. Louis; two great grandchildren, Amelia & Adeline Wenger; three step grandchildren, Shaun, Clint, & Derek Stinnett; & two step great grandchildren, D.J. & Riley Stinnett. She was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Cooper; and two sisters, Mary Rombach & Florence Flannery. Jacqueline served in the U.S. Army WAC during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the AT&T Pioneers. There will be no visitation or service and she will be cremated according to her wishes. Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, at a later date. The family requests memorials the Friends of the Wildey in care of Weber & Rodney Funeral Home.
