James Kingston

James Michael “Mike” Kingston, 72 of St. Peters, MO, passed away at 9:21 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2026 at his residence.

Mike was born June 6, 1953 in Alton. He was the son of the late James O. and Shirley (Ingleton) Kingston.

Mike and the former Rickey Essary were married in East Alton. Rickey passed away on June 27, 2014. He and Linda Kenney of St. Peters, MO were engaged to be married.

Mike made his career as a Journeyman Pipefitter-Plumber for the Olin Corporation in East Alton. After working many years he retired.

Survivors include two daughters, Michelle R. Kingston of Jacksonville, IL, Christine D. Gilbert and Chad A. of Festus, MO; one son, Matthew J. Kingston and Jessica H. Coopedge of St. Charles, MO; five grandchildren, Tyler Gilbert, Joshua Gilbert, Adam Kingston, Blake Kingston, Carley Kingston.

Besides Rickey and his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Lynn Kingston.

There will be a graveside service at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana. Gray Funeral Home in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.

Mike leaves many memories for his family and friends who loved and knew him. He will be missed.
