James Blair

East Alton:

James M. Blair, 87, passed away at 2:50pm on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at his residence.  He was born on March 14, 1931, in East Alton, the son of the late Mitchell G. and Ruby Pearl (Diamond) Blair.  He married the former Sara N. Wiseman on June 24, 1950, and she survives.  Other survivors include two sons: William G. Blair and his companion: Kim Hawkins of Wood River, James Blair, Jr. and his wife: Theresa of Wood River, one daughter and son in law: Kimberly and James Berry of Wood River, four grandchildren: Christopher Blair and his wife: Cherie, Justin Blair and his wife: Deanna, Nicholas Blair, Amanda Foster and her husband: Collin, six great grandchildren: Sophie, Eva, Caleb, Courtney, Sara, Jordan, and many other extended family and friends.

James was employed for thirty years as a delivery driver at Schwartz Furniture in Wood River.  He loved fishing, camping, and playing cards.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters: Doris Jensen, Shirley Rostek, Nancy Campbell, Anne Cox, Kay Posik. 

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.  Private family services will be held at a later date.
